Arnold has a background in Exploration and Production of oil and gas. His 26 years professional career includes several engineering, asset management, and corporate planning and economic roles at Shell (UK, Netherlands, Brunei, Nigeria), Petro-Canada (UK, Netherlands) and E.ON (Germany). Arnold is skilled in Facilities Engineering, Project Management, Economics, Business Planning, Strategy development and Asset Management. He holds an MSc in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Twente University and an MBA from Henley Management College.
Purvi is an international MBA graduate with more than 10 years of experience in process engineering related to upstream and downstream oil & gas obtained with Reliance Industries (India), Kongsberg Oil & Gas (Norway) and Jacobs Engineering (Netherlands). During her study Chemical Engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology she was awarded the gold medal for excellent academic performance. Having obtained an MBA at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, Purvi joined the market research team of the Energy & Climate department at Triodos Bank. At Circular Energy Purvi is responsible for gas treatment, power generation and carbon capture facilities.
Simona Bottero has more than 10 years experience researching subsurface flow phenomena relating to oil & gas production. She holds an MSc from Cagliari University, Italy, and received a PhD from Utrecht University, The Netherlands on multiphase flow aspects. Previous roles include post-doctoral researcher at Delft University of Technology and Reservoir Engineer at SGS Subsurface Consultancy. At Circular Energy Simona is lead Reservoir Engineer and coordinates all subsurface aspects.
Lidewij is a Master student at Utrecht University. She is doing her master thesis with Circular Energy looking into the strength of the reservoir rock and caprock. Besides geomechanical aspects of simultaneous production and injection she is analysing geochemistry aspects to investigate the implications of injecting CO2 on naturally occuring faulting in the reservoir. Lidewij is a student of the master Earth Structure and Dynamics. She also holds a BSc in Earth Sciences from Utrecht University.
Mark has a background in Mechanical Engineering which he practised with Fluor and Statkraft. At Lyondell he was responsible for investment analysis. More recently Mark has focused on business planning, funding strategies and strategy development for small technology-based companies. In addition to his role at Circular Energy, Mark is active in finance management and strategy development with Cultuurmij Oost, a role he has also performed for Het Gelders Orkest. Mark holds an MSc from Delft University and an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management.
Harry has over 30 years experience in designing and constructing on- and offshore facilities for oil & gas and petrochemical industries. He has worked and lived in various countries in South-East Asia and South America, working for a range of companies including SPT Offshore, Fabricom, Petro-Canada, Stork and Bluewater. Most recently Harry worked in Houston for IntecSea as Project Manager for single point mooring systems. Harry holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a BSc in Engineering Management.
Patricia is proficient in structuring and negotiating oil & gas related agreements, economics and strategic analysis. Starting her career in reservoir Engineering with Placid (Netherlands) and Halliburton (UK), she quickly moved to commercial roles with, amongst others, Kerr-McGee (UK), Maersk (UK), OMV (Vienna), Wintershall (Germany) and Addax Petroleum (Geneva). Patricia holds a MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Delft University and an MBA from the Open University.
Marjolein is both a technical journalist and an expert in energy related issues. After joining TNO as a researcher, she switched to Polytechnisch Weekblad, Technisch Weekblad and Energietechniek as editor. At KEMA and DNV/GL Marjolein was part of the corporate communications team. Most recently she worked at InnovatieLink, responsible for their communication strategy regarding energy, chemistry and the bio-based economy. Marjolein also worked at Offshore Wind Innovators in a similar role. Marjolein holds an MA in Social Sciences from Groningen University and a BA in journalism.

Mr Schalij is a partner at eRisk Group, a company that combines knowledge of financial and energy markets to provide strategic advice to both energy producers and governments. Before this, he served as director at Nuon with responsibility over strategic development and was active in derivatives trading and risk management at Rabobank. Mr. Schalij has an MSc-degree from the University of Groningen.
Consultant Eco-Effective Strategies
Anne-Mette is an independent consultant with a focus on the interaction of offshore energy installations and marine ecosystems. She grew up in Denmark and studied International Relations at the University of Amsterdam. She has more than 20 years of experience in issue management, policy development and stakeholder engagement on sustainability-related topics ranging from GMOs in agriculture to decommissioning and other human activities in the North Sea. she has worked as a consultant for various large multinational corporations and government institutions, as a team-manager for the Dutch green NGO Natuur & Milieu and currently also works as director of North Sea Futures and as research manager at Milieu Centraal (an independent organisation providing consumers with environmental advice).
Director Gas Technology at TNO Energy
Currently responsible for market developments in the gas technology sector within the Energy theme of TNO. Within the Dutch Innovation Program on Gas Mr. Peters is responsible for the Upstream Gas Innovation Program. Mr. Peters also serves as the Account Manager for Shell within TNO, and is leading the joint research program on shale gas of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA). Mr. Peters serves as a member of the board of IRO since 2015 and is a member of the council of experts for metrology of the Ministry of Economic affairs.
