For modeling the simultaneous gas production and CO₂ injection, we have purchased a new advanced software package recently. With tNavigator of Rock Flow Dynamics we can calculate different scenarios faster and in more detail.
These reservoir models provide insight into the complex mechanisms at kilometers below the sea bottom, such as geological phenomena, fluid dynamics and the supercritical conditions at the bottom of the reservoir. They help to decide on the development of the gas field, taking into account all variables and uncertainties. For example, questions about the number, location and depth of the wells, the best way to extract gas and to inject CO₂, risk reduction, and the size and lifetime of the reservoir can be answered with these simulations.
